1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which our client portal uses to keep you signed in. We refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.

2. Cookies we use

• Strictly necessary. Sign-in and session tokens for the client portal, security tokens, and settings that make the site work. The site cannot function without these.
• Payment. We do not use any payment-provider cookies — payments are made by bank transfer directly into our Capitec Business Account.
• Preferences. Small values that remember choices such as your last viewed page or form drafts in progress.
• Analytics. Aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics that help us see which pages are used and where visitors run into problems.

We do not use cookies for advertising and we do not sell any cookie data.

3. Third parties

Some cookies are set by services we rely on, including our hosting and database provider, and WhatsApp when you start a chat with us. Those providers process the data under their own privacy terms.

4. Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to the client portal, submitting applications or completing a payment. Most browsers also offer a private browsing mode that clears cookies when you close the window.

5. Retention

Session cookies are removed when you close your browser. Persistent cookies, such as your sign-in token, remain until they expire or until you sign out or clear them.
